Up in Cascade, CO the aspens are changing and there’s chili cooking! Yep, it’s that time of year again, the annual Cascade Volunteer Fire Department chili dinner fundraiser event. Everything starts at 4pm and continues to 8pm. The chili and the company are all free. Bring the children for fun games and handouts.

The chili will be available in mild for those needing to go easy and HOT for those that like it that way ….. and can handle it !

So, if your family and/or you are looking for a great get-together with good food for a worthy cause, come on up to Cascade on Saturday October 10th.

Donations are accepted throughout the event. Additional fundraising occurs through a Silent Auction with offerings from local residents, artists, and businesses. Materials and displays will also be available on fire prevention and safety.

If you would like to make it a Ute Pass weekend adventure first checkout Eastholme in the Rockies Bed and Breakfast right here in Cascade, Colorado. The firehouse is but 250 feet away from Eastholme so you can catch dinner at the firehouse and breakfast with us at Eastholme the next morning.

While in Cascade don’t forget North Pole, Home of Santa’s Workshop who are celebrating their 50th anniversary! One great place to let the children enjoy themselves and Santa. And all us parents still have that feeling too. They are open from 10am to 5pm.

And don’t forget the Pikes Peak Highway that also begins right here in Cascade. An incredible 19 miles of beautiful scenery and views!

And you can’t leave Cascade without stopping in at the Pikes Peak Gourmet Popcorn store. With over 50 flavors there’s popcorn for everyone in your group. Pick up some for the trip home or take them up on shipping some to those on your holiday list …. Yes it’s coming so get ahead of the crowd.

So, if time allows slide on up to Cascade for a day at the North Pole, a quick check in at Eastholme for the evening stay, walk on over to the firehouse for CHILI and fun, comfy night back at Eastholme, waking to a hearty 3 course breakfast, then on up to the top of Pikes Peak with a stop for some popcorn on the way down.

We hope you can join all of us here in Cascade and especially at the Fire Department for some great company, good food, and a meaningful event.

Directions to firehouse – Take Highway 24 west from Interstate 25 or Colorado Springs. Pass by Manitou Springs and continue up Ute Pass to the Pikes Peak stoplight in Cascade (Milepost 294). Cascade VFD Pumper 1820 will be sitting at roadside. Turn right at the stoplight and follow the activity up the hill to the firehouse and library area.
