Eastholme was built by Eliza Marriott Hewlett, a wealthy widow who migrated west from Schenectedy, New York with her two sisters, Ellen and Caroline Marriott in the early 1880's. Hewlett astutely realizing the tourist potential of the scenic Ute Pass region, constructed the building as a resort hotel in 1885. Using craftsmen from the Pikes Peak region, they built the eight gabled hotel to reflect East Coast architecture and crowned their achievement as Eastholme Hotel. Known then as Hurricane Canyon and later renamed by Eliza as Cascade Canyon. Today we know it as Cascade, Colorado.

  1. This is the finest B&B to be found. The accomodations are excellent, and superb food along with history of our United States goes along with the house itself. It is not just easy to find but very centrally located to many areas in and near Colorado Springs. You will not find more gracious host and hostess anywhere!
